Animate your Christmas cards
The Christmas season is a great time to inject some of your organisation’s personality into the content you create. And sharing an animated Christmas card or seasonal greeting with your audience is a great way to do this. Animation is a particularly powerful way of grabbing your audience’s attention, and it’s also got multiple uses so can be shared across your social media channels, on your website and via email. And best of all, it's a sustainable alternative to sending paper cards and neatly plays into the carbon neutral Christmas trend.
This is exactly what we did for our client Network Rail, who wanted to share an engaging Christmas greeting with their staff as a way of thanking them for all of their hard work through. We created an eye-catching animated Christmas card for their internal use, which was widely shared across the organisation and was really well-received by employees. You can see a quick preview of the animation below.
Give your online presence a festive
makeover
Adding some Christmas decorations to your online channels like social media and email is probably the simplest (and most cost-effective) activity you can do in the run up to the festive season. Depending on your social channels and what images you’re currently using for things like profile photos and email banners, a clever way to festively decorate these online assets is to add a vector image or overlay. We’re experts in brand interpretation at Eleven, so we can easily create these files for you whilst ensuring they don’t compromise your brand’s style.
These kind of flourishes are great for helping your audience to stand out during seasonal periods. If you’re looking for a little inspiration on this one, check out the festive makeover we’ve previously given our social media profile photos below.
Run advent-based tactical campaigns
The festive season is a pivotal time to engage your audience with a tactical campaign. Whether you’re looking to increase fundraising, recruit more foster carers or influence passenger behaviour – just some common examples of what we do for our clients at Eleven – the festive season is the perfect time to run a tactical campaign.
Just this time last year, we helped Network Rail encourage passengers to feel relaxed, safe and excited about their return to train travel after the Coronavirus pandemic through in-station events across the Southern region. We created a campaign concept called ‘Christmas is…’ which encouraged passengers to stay a little longer in stations to pick up Christmas treats or last-minute gifts from in-station retailers, who in turn help to support the rail infrastructure in Britain.
Swap traditional gifts with charity donations
Christmas is a time for giving. Replacing the usual corporate gifts for charity donations is a great way to give back and demonstrate the social issues you stand for. Alternatively, you could leave it to your audience to decide as we do at Eleven. Every year we ask our clients and suppliers to decide who should receive our Christmas gift donation.
We choose to do this every year at Eleven, allowing our clients and suppliers to choose a charity of their choice to receive the donation. And our employees felt so inspired by this that they decided to use Christmas wish lists to make donations in each other’s honour instead of buying physical gifts too!
Tis the season to start your Christmas marketing activity. So, if you need our help to create a holiday campaign with impact or add some festive flare to your branding, get in touch and we’ll be more than happy to support.
